This journal applies transparent editorial processes and recognised publication ethics principles. Editorial decisions are made independently and are guided by scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, relevance to the journal scope, and compliance with ethical standards.
Expected standard of professional communication for authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and staff.
All participants in the publishing process are expected to communicate respectfully and professionally. Aggressive, discriminatory, abusive, harassing, or intimidating communication may lead to restriction of correspondence or withdrawal of editorial consideration.
Authorship should reflect genuine scholarly contribution and responsibility for the work.
Authorship should be limited to contributors who made substantial scholarly contributions, reviewed and approved the submitted work, and accept responsibility for the integrity of the article. Changes to authorship should be transparent and approved by all affected authors.
Financial and non-financial interests that could influence interpretation must be disclosed.
Authors, reviewers, and editors should disclose financial or non-financial interests that may reasonably be perceived to influence the submitted work, review process, or editorial decision. Relevant declarations should be clear enough for readers to assess possible bias.
Authors must follow responsible research and reporting practices.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their submission. Research involving humans, animals, sensitive data, hazardous materials, or regulated settings should include appropriate approvals, consent statements, and compliance information.
References should be accurate, relevant, and not manipulated.
Citations should accurately support the manuscript and should not be used to manipulate metrics. Authors should cite relevant prior work fairly, including work that may not support their conclusions.
Preprint and prior sharing practices should be transparent.
Where preprints are permitted, authors should disclose the preprint record during submission. The journal may require transparency on preprint version, DOI or link, and relationship between the preprint and the submitted manuscript.
Published record corrections are handled with transparency.
When significant errors, concerns, or integrity issues are identified after publication, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other notices in line with the nature of the case and the available evidence.
Authors and readers may raise reasoned concerns through the journal process.
Appeals and complaints should be evidence-based, respectful, and focused on editorial process, ethics, or factual accuracy. The journal will review concerns fairly, but appeal does not guarantee a change in editorial decision.
AI-assisted tools must be used transparently and responsibly.
Authors remain responsible for the full content of their manuscript, including material produced or edited with AI-assisted tools. AI tools should not be listed as authors. Where required, authors should disclose significant AI assistance in writing, analysis, image generation, or data processing.
Research with potential ethical, safety, or security implications requires careful disclosure.
Submissions involving sensitive methods, dual-use research, biological materials, harmful protocols, security risks, or vulnerable populations may require additional editorial assessment and documentation before review or publication.
Images and figures must represent the underlying data accurately.
Figures, images, and visual data should not be manipulated in a way that misleads readers. Adjustments should be applied consistently and described where necessary. Original data may be requested during editorial assessment.
Data, code, materials, and reporting should support verification of claims.
Authors should provide data availability statements and follow relevant reporting standards for their discipline. Where possible, data, code, and materials supporting the conclusions should be shared through trusted repositories or made available under reasonable conditions.
Peer review should be confidential, constructive, fair, and independent.
Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts objectively, maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and provide constructive comments. Editors are responsible for fair peer-review management and final editorial decisions.
Special content must follow the same editorial and ethical standards.
Collections and special issues should apply the same standards of peer review, editorial independence, transparency, and conflict disclosure as regular submissions. Guest editor roles and responsibilities should be clearly managed.
All publishing participants share responsibility for protecting the scholarly record.
Authors, reviewers, editors, and publishing staff are expected to act honestly and transparently. Suspected misconduct, manipulation, plagiarism, peer-review abuse, or data falsification may be investigated and acted upon according to the journal process.
